What is a Political Subdivision?

A political subdivision is a unit of government designed to carry out public functions within a specific territory.

Click here if you are not a political subdivision, but are a small business owner looking for healthcare coverage.

Healthcare Group of Arizona may enroll political subdivisions regardless of employee count through an intergovernmental agreement. Eligibility requirements placed on enrolling small businesses are not relevant when an intergovernmental agreement is signed.

  • All employees must enroll with the same health plan network.
  • Rates are determined by group size, county location, and selected plan options, and may be influenced by health status related factors.

Click here to find out what health plan networks and plan options are available in your county.

To receive more information regarding enrollment of a political subdivision please e-mail newbusiness@hcgaz.com (specify "enrollment for political subdivisions" in the subject line) or call 602.417.6755 or 800.247.2289 (outside Maricopa County).
